Steve Ruston is not the cheapest builder I could find, but that is because he only uses workmen his firm has trained from a young age, men. As a result not only is every person he employs totally reliable, considerate and nice to be around, but they do an excellent job. I dreaded having the walls at the end and side of my garden rebuilt, given that it seemed like a big job to me (they had to build new foundations as well as the brickwork above ground) but as it turned out it was a pleasure having it done by Steve Ruston and his men. I was able to carry on with my work and barely knew they were there. Also if anything goes wrong afterwards, whether in any big job they have done or in other parts of your property, there is a team dedicated to doing little jobs who leap into action as soon as called upon. We have used Steve and his team as our builders for 20 years. The most recent job was a substantial refurbishment including major repairs and decoration following structural damage from subsidence. Steve and his team were professional, always contactable, and a pleasure to have in our home. They did a fantastic job in every regard, from heavy duty knocking down of walls, plumbing and fine carpentry all the way through to the final decorating, which was immaculate.

After several false starts with builders in the North London area we were recommended to Steve and his team. They have proved themselves truly excellent in every respect. Punctual, reliable, totally honest, "house-trained" and to a man polite and friendly we had many months to get to know them all. Building work always results in snagging and perhaps the most refreshing thing about Steve is he doesn't ever "walk away" from a job. Any small concern is dealt with immediately until any outstanding issue is resolved. I would not hesitate to recommend him for the smallest job to the largest project.
